LINK Shuttle Service to Dulles North Transit Center Starts September 2

On Tuesday, September 2, Loudoun County Transit will begin shuttle service from the Ashburn Farm community to the Dulles North Transit Center. This shuttle will connect riders to the LC Transit commuter bus that goes into the Washington Metropolitan Region.

You'll be able to leave your car in the garage, avoid congestion on Waxpool Road and enjoy a seamless transfer to the commuter buses by riding the new shuttle bus, called LINK, to Dulles North.

The LINK shuttle bus will make three stops along the Ashburn Farm Parkway:
  • adjacent to Parkhurst Plaza
  • adjacent to the Crossroads United Methodist Church
  • Claiborne Parkway at Belgreen

Residents can park their vehicles at the gravel satellite lot at the Methodist Church or at the designated parking spaces at Parkhurst Plaza.

LINK service will operate weekdays from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. with buses traveling in a continuous loop along Ashburn Farm Parkway every 15 minutes. In the evening, these same shuttle buses will pick up passengers beginning at 4 p.m. and looping every 15 minutes at Dulles North and return them to the lots/stops on Ashburn Farm Parkway.

Fare for this service is $1.00 exact cash per trip.

Operating shuttle buses in this densely populated area will allow riders to leave their cars at home and walk or bike to the pick up points or drive a short distance and park to ride the LINK. Bike racks will be available at the Methodist Church. The new service will also take some cars off Waxpool Road.

More information can be found online at www.loudoun.gov/bus or by calling the Office of Transportation Services at 703-771-5665.

** Also on September 2, there will be a fare increase for Loudoun County Transit. The long haul fare will be increased by $1.00 per trip. The new fare will be $7.00 per trip for SmarTrip card users and $8.00 per trip cash fare. The Metro connection fare (Cascades/Lowes Island to West Falls Church, Leesburg/Dulles North to West Falls Church, and all Reverse Commute) will increase by 25 cents. The new fare will be $1.75 for SmarTrip card users and $2.25 for cash fares. IntraCounty fares will remain at $1.00 for riders traveling between park and ride lots in the county.

  2. I live in Sterling, Cascades Pkwy at Algonkian. There's a park and ride lot right up the street, but unless I'm wrong, it only goes to West Falls Church Metro. I need to get to Dulles North Transit Center, as I work very closeby. How do I do this? I see there's a link bus from Ashburn, is there anything from Sterling?? I can't believe that there wouldn't be. Help! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
