The Washington Redskins and Traffic

While it might seem odd to be talking NFL football -- specifically the Washington Redskins -- on a website about Loudoun County traffic, the two do go together.

We assume everyone knows the connection, but just in case, Redskins Park practice facility is right here in Loudoun County, off the Loudoun County Parkway, just over a mile from Waxpool Road.

Check out the Redskins practice schedule webpage for dates and times Redskin Park will be busy.

Luckily the Redskins "Fan Appreciation Day" will be held this coming Saturday, Aug. 7, so that event won't interfere with the "normal" work week for Loudoun County commuters. But if you've got errands or traveling planned that day, and it doesn't include watching the Redskins practice, you may want to avoid that side of the Parkway.

Last year's Fan Appreciation Day drew a record 29,000 spectators. The day's festivities begin at 10:30 a.m., with gates opening at 10 a.m., and the practice session starting at noon.

Have you had any traffic issues or experienced any delays near Redskins Park so far this year? In the past? If so (or if not), share your experiences in our comments section below.
