Loudoun County Street Smarts Campaign Begins Tomorrow

Loudoun County will kick off its Street Smarts pedestrian and bicycle campaign tomorrow morning, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., that according to the Loudoun Times.

The campaign kickoff will be held at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road and the W&OD Trail in Ashburn. Parking will be available at the entrance to the quarry 200 feet north of the trail crossing.


The campaign is aimed at reducing the number of pedestrian and cyclist injuries and deaths in the Washington metropolitan area. In addition to the media campaign, law enforcement and local, county and state agencies will be distributing handouts and tip cards to further spread awareness and educate drivers and pedestrians.

The Street Smart public awareness and enforcement campaign is sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board.
