Ashburn Teen Charged in Crash that Injured Three Children

A 15-year-old Ashburn female was issued a juvenile petition for reckless driving Tuesday for her involvement in the March 14 crash that injured three children playing on a sidewalk.

The 15-year-old driver had her learner's permit and was receiving a driving lesson from a parent when the crash occurred. The two were traveling on Morven Woods Court in Ashburn, Virginia, around 6:45 p.m. when the teenager accelerated and jumped a curb onto a sidewalk where the three children were playing.

The children, ages 7, 8 and 10-years-old, were all transported to local hospitals. The 7-year-old was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital where she remains hospitalized. The two other children were taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Hospital where they were treated and later released.

  2. A novice driver should always do practice on safe and secure track. Where no one can be hurt. This kind of incidents make me afraid for my son. He is also learning driving lessons. I am thinking to let him join Arena Driving School Kildare. There he can learn safe driving lessons.
