Driver in Pedestrian Crash on Ivandale Road Asked to Come Forward

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is asking the driver involved in a pedestrian crash involving a child on Ivandale Road near the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (W&OD) to contact authorities.

The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. when a four-year-old boy was riding his bicycle with his family on the W&OD trail. The child entered the roadway at Ivandale Road and rode into the path of a silver Toyota Camry. The driver of the Toyota, described as a 70-year-old female, exited her car and checked on the child. The family believed the child was uninjured and advised the motorist she could leave.

The child was taken to the Cornwall Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is asking the driver of the vehicle to call Investigator R. Beach of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-777-1021.
