Possible Traffic Delays During Weekend Events

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is advising residents of several weekend events that may cause traffic delays in various areas of the county.

This evening, a 5k race will take place in the Lansdowne area between 3-8 p.m. Motorists may find some delays on Woodbridge Parkway.

On Saturday, a half-marathon will take place in the Lucketts area between 4:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Roads impacted include Lucketts Road, Lost Corner Road and St. Clair Lane. Residents who live in this area should be advised that Chapel Lane and Spinks Ferry Road are being used as a detour route.

On Sunday, a triathlon will take place along the Washington and Old Dominion Trail between Herndon and Ashburn. The event will be held from 6:30-9:30 a.m. and may impact Sterling Boulevard, Ruritan Circle and Smith Switch Circle.

Motorists are asked to please be patient, drive safely and follow all law-enforcement direction.
