Route 7 Traffic Affected This Weekend Near River Creek Parkway

The Leesburg Today newspaper reports that the Virginia Department of Transportation will reroute traffic on Rt. 7 near the River Creek Parkway during overnight work shifts this weekend. VDOT is installing a storm water pipe to carry storm water from the north side of Rt. 7 to Goose Creek.

The eastbound lanes were scheduled to be closed from 8 p.m. Friday night until 8 a.m. today. Starting at 8 p.m. tonight, until Sunday at 8 a.m., traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes while crews are working on the westbound side of Rt. 7.

Depending on the workflow, the closures may continue from 8 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday. Traffic will be separated by traffic cones and will be monitored by VDOT and the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
