AAA Says More of Us Will be Traveling This Thanksgiving

The Washington Business Journal reports that more of us will be heading out of town this Thanksgiving.

"When the annual turkey trot kicks off ... more American drivers are expected to be behind the wheel than last year, according to new projections from AAA Mid-Atlantic. The automotive group predicts the number of Thanksgiving holiday revelers traveling at least 50 miles roundtrip will jump to 38.4 million this year, up 1.4 percent from the holiday weekend in 2008.

"The increased desire to be with far-flung family is not expected to help airports, AAA said. The number of air travelers is expected to fall by 6.7 percent during the holiday. Just 2.3 million Americans are expected to fly to their holiday destinations."
