Agreement Reached for Dulles Toll Road Bridge

The Fairfax Times reports that plans for development around the proposed Route 28 Metrorail station -- part of the planned second phase of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, slated to begin serving passengers in 2016 -- are becoming a bit clearer.
"Last week, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved several changes to the county's comprehensive plan for a 50-acre area on the north side of the station.

"The Center for Innovative Technology plans to build a research campus on about half of the acreage, with a residential and retail component to support the facilities. The rest of the re-planned area could be used for additional research facilities, as well as a hotel, office buildings and shops and restaurants.

"The approval of the plan was delayed for months while elected officials from Fairfax and Loudoun counties and the Town of Herndon worked to resolve the debated placement of a new bridge over the Dulles Toll Road."
