Motorists Should Anticipate Delays in and Around Leesburg Wednesday due to Campaign Event

In anticipation of a campaign event tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Ida Lee Park in the Town of Leesburg, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists to expect delays in and around the town, including on the Route 15/Route 7 bypass, between 4 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this area during the afternoon and evening hours should expect some traffic congestion and delays.

Please be patient, drive safely and follow all law enforcement direction.

Also, due to the campaign event, Rust Library will close at 1 p.m. tomorrow.  Ida Lee Recreation Center and Tennis Center also will close at 1 p.m., and Ida Lee Drive will be closed to all traffic beginning at 2 p.m.

With gates for the 6:30 p.m. campaign rally opening at 4:30 p.m., Leesburg officials are cautioning drivers to expect significant traffic delays in the northern section of Leesburg Wednesday afternoon.
