Buses to Replace Trains Along Parts of the Orange Line This Weekend

Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church, East Falls Church Stations to be Closed


Switch and signal testing for the Silver Line, along with additional rail line work by Metro, will close the Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church and East Falls Church Metrorail stations from 10 p.m. Friday, July 26, through closing on Sunday night, July 28.

Free shuttle buses will replace Orange Line trains between Vienna and Ballston stations. Local buses will operate between Vienna and Ballston with intermediate stops at Dunn Loring, West Falls Church and East Falls Church.

For example, passengers from Falls Church to Ballston should add 30 minutes to their travel times.

In addition, express buses will operate between Vienna and Ballston. Customers should allow an additional 25 minutes of travel time.

The Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church and East Falls Church stations will be closed.

If you normally park at Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church or East Falls Church, consider driving to Ballston instead. However, note that parking facilities in the Ballston area are not operated by Metro and may require payment to park.
