Public Comments Invited on Proposed Loudoun Commuter Bus Fare Structure

The public is invited to comment on a proposed new fare structure for the Loudoun County Transit Commuter Bus system. Comments regarding the proposed fare structure will be accepted via email through 6 p.m., next Wednesday, May 14, at All comments received via email will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors.

Additionally, the Board of Supervisors will hear public comment during its monthly public hearing beginning at 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, in the Board Room of the County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg.

The Board is expected to take up the issue of a new fare structure for the commuter bus system at its business meeting on May 21.

In 2013, the Board gave staff direction to retain a consultant to analyze the elements related to fare levels for the commuter bus program, and to develop a proposed fare structure for commuter bus services during the approximate five year period of Phase I of the Silver Line.
