Potential Weekend Traffic Delays

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is advising residents of several weekend events that may cause traffic delays in various areas of the county.

Broad Run High School will hold their Homecoming Parade from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. this evening, Friday, Oct. 31. Roads impacted include Michener Drive, Hemingway Drive, Faulkner Road and Ashburn Road.

The Lovettsville Community Center will hold an event tonight from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Residents should expect additional traffic on Broad Way. An event in Hillsboro between 6- 9 p.m. tonight also may impact traffic on Route 9 in the area of the town. And an event at the Cornerstone Chapel will be held between 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. that may impact traffic on Sycolin Road.

Also, please be careful this evening throughout Loudoun County as trick-or-treaters will be out in full force on neighborhood streets and roadways. Drive with extra caution and slow down through residential areas.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, Area Boy Scouts will be walking throughout the county during the day for an annual scouting event. And a 5k in the area of Palisades Parkway and Cascades Parkway on Sunday, Nov. 2 may cause some delays between 7:30 - 10:30 a.m.

As always, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office encourages motorists to be patient, drive safely, follow all law-enforcement direction and have a safe weekend.
