Groundbreaking for Russell Branch Parkway Set for Wednesday, March 25

Loudoun County residents are invited to attend the groundbreaking for the Russell Branch Parkway construction project scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, at the project site near the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Ashburn Road.

Members of the Board of Supervisors, representatives of the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure and other Loudoun County government officials and staff are expected to attend.

Parking at the groundbreaking site is limited, so carpooling is strongly encouraged. Parking will be available along Ashburn Road north of the intersection with Russell Branch Parkway.

The project will construct the missing segment of Russell Branch Parkway between Ashburn Road and Ashburn Village Boulevard.  William A. Hazel, Inc. was awarded the contract for construction in January. Construction is to begin in April with completion in the spring of 2016.

Questions about the project may be directed to Loudoun County's Construction Program Manager Melissa Tello at 703-737-8054. To keep up to date with the project and other Loudoun County capital projects, go to the county's interactive, web-based map at www.loudoun.gov/underconstruction
