The Russell Branch Parkway construction project is officially underway. Loudoun County officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project today at the project site near the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Ashburn Road.
Members of the Board of Supervisors and representatives of the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure and the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce participated in the ceremony along with a representative of the B.F. Saul Company, which contributed a right-of-way and funding through a proffer, and The Community Church, which also contributed a right-of- way for the project.
The project will construct the missing segment of Russell Branch Parkway between Ashburn Road and Ashburn Village Boulevard. William A. Hazel, Inc. was awarded the contract for construction in January 2015. Construction is to begin in April 2015 with completion in the spring of 2016.
