Loudoun County Enhances Local Bus Service with Schedule Changes

Loudoun County has implemented several major improvements to its local bus service including the addition of two new direct routes to the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station and new Saturday service. Highlights of the schedule changes include:
 
  • New local bus service from Dulles Town Center to the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station. The 87X departs the Dulles Town Center Park and Ride Lot Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon peak-hour service, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from 4 p.m. to 8:01 p.m. There is also all-day Saturday service from 8:05 a.m. through 9 p.m. The fare is $1.00 exact cash per trip.
  • Express Bus Service from the Telos Park and Ride lot to the Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station. The Route 89X is express bus service departing every half hour from Telos, 19886 Ashburn Road, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Passengers can also board at Wiehle-Reston East and travel to the Telos lot in the morning. Afternoon service from Wiehle-Reston East is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Cost is $1.00 exact cash per trip. 
  • All-day Saturday service on both the Route 70 (Leesburg to Sterling via Leesburg Pike) and Route 82 (Sterling Connector). Beginning Saturday, July 11, these routes will operate on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., departing approximately every hour. The Route 70 Saturday service route is modified slightly, ending at the Shenandoah Building in Leesburg and skipping stops along George Washington Boulevard. The fare for Routes 70 and 82 is $1.00 exact cash per trip. 
Schedules can be viewed at www.loudoun.gov/localbus. Printed schedules are also available at the Dulles Town Center, INOVA Loudoun Hospital and the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison Street, S.E. in Leesburg.
