Loudoun County Seeks Members for New Transit Advisory Board

Loudoun County is seeking volunteers to serve on the newly created Loudoun County Transit Advisory Board, which will advise the Board of Supervisors on matters pertaining to all modes of transit within Loudoun County.

The new Transit Advisory Board will include nine representatives appointed by the members of the Board of Supervisors to represent each election district and the county at-large.

The Transit Advisory Board will also include one member from the Disability Services Board, one member from the Chamber of Commerce, one member from the Loudoun County Economic Development Advisory Commission, and three additional members identified by county staff to represent all transit modes operated by the county. Those transit modes are: long-haul commuter bus service, local fixed-route bus service, and the Metro Connection service.

The Transit Advisory Board is expected to begin meeting in early 2016. Anyone interested in serving on the board may submit an application, which is online at www.loudoun.gov/advisory. More information about the Transit Advisory Board is available online at www.loudoun.gov/index.aspx?NID=3665, or by calling 703-771-5665.

Loudoun County has many advisory boards, commissions and committees whose members' terms expire concurrently with the current members of the Board of Supervisors on December 31, 2015. The newly-elected Board of Supervisors, which takes office January 1, 2016, is seeking volunteers to serve on advisory boards, commissions and committees.
