Loudoun County officials have announced upcoming planned night lane closures of Route 7 at the Route7-659 (Belmont Ridge Road) interchange project. The closures are necessary to remove temporary bridge overhang material and an eastbound overhead sign.
The removal of the temporary bridge overhang material and overhead sign affecting eastbound lanes on Route 7 is planned to begin Sunday night, Dec. 10, and will continue nightly until Friday morning, Dec. 15. Single and double lane closures, as required, are set to begin at 10 p.m. and all lanes will be open to traffic by 5 a.m. the following morning.

This work is not expected to require a complete closure of Route 7 in either direction and a minimum of one lane is planned to be open. However, law enforcement will be on-site to direct traffic during the course of the work and should it be determined that a full closure is necessary for the safety of the travelling public, complete road closures will only occur between midnight and 5 a.m. for a maximum of 20 minutes.
In addition to law enforcement personnel directing traffic, electronic message boards will be posted to advise the public to expect delays the night of each planned lane closure.
