Eastern Loudoun Interchange Set to Open

According to the Loudoun Independent, motorists will soon be able to access the new interchange being built at the intersection of Route 7 and Loudoun County Parkway in Ashburn.

"According to county officials, the interchange will partially open on or about April 28.

"The ramp from Route 7 east to Loudoun County Parkway north or south will open, as will the ramp from Loudoun County Parkway to Route 7 west. Also, a new stretch of Loudoun County Parkway from Russell Branch to George Washington Parkway will be available to motorists.

"Unlike most road projects, which the Virginia Department of Transportation is in charge, the county is managing this $23 million construction job. Funding for it came from a bond referendum approved by residents in 2006."
