Loudoun, Fairfax at Impasse Over Toll Road Bridge

The Loudoun Independent reports "A sticking point about where a bridge should be built is causing friction between Loudoun and its larger neighbor to the east: Fairfax County.

"According to planners in Fairfax, the four-lane bridge with pedestrian and bicycle access would cross over the Dulles Toll Road and connect Sunrise Valley Drive and Rock Hill Road and take motorists just west of the future Route 28 Metro station, which is part of second phase of the Silver Line bringing rail to Loudoun.

"The station is planned for the area near the intersection of the Dulles Toll Road and Route 28 on the Fairfax County side. Its closest landmark is the oddly shaped Center for Innovative Technology building."
