Lowes Island Area Traffic and Parking Restrictions Continue

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is reminding residents that a major golf tournament in Loudoun County this week will limit traffic in the Lowes Island area and current Homeowners Association (HOA) parking restrictions will be enforced in neighborhoods surrounding Trump National Golf Club. Between today, Wednesday, May 24 and Sunday, May 28, residents should expect increased vehicle traffic, including shuttle buses, as well as pedestrian traffic for the 2017 Senior PGA Championship.

Those planning on attending the golf tournament are advised that there will be no general parking onsite at Trump National Golf Club, located on Lowes Island Boulevard. Attendees are asked to park at the Purple Economy Parking Lot at Dulles International Airport (IAD); tournament organizers are providing shuttle services from the airport lot to the event.  The shuttle service will run from 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday; 6:15 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday; and 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Only local traffic and local services will be allowed into the community surrounding the golf club. The entrance points for local traffic will be at the intersections of Lowes Island Boulevard and Dunkirk Square and Lowes Island Boulevard at Tappahannock Place.

Local traffic must have their resident hang tags that were provided to them by their HOA, or government issued identification card with a local address within the affected communities, to enter beyond this area.  Residents are encouraged to ensure they have their resident hang tags clearly displayed in their vehicles or are carrying a government issued identification card.

Members of the Virginia State Police will also be conducting traffic control at the intersections of Lowes Island Boulevard and Algonkian Parkway and Whitewater Drive and Algonkian Parkway. Loudoun County Sheriff's Deputies will also monitor traffic-related issues around schools in the immediate area of the event.  Please follow all law enforcement direction.

"No event parking" signage will be placed at entrances in the area and unlawful parking will not be permitted. Local residents with questions regarding parking limitations and other restrictions within their community should contact their local HOA.

To monitor traffic-related incidents in the area, please sign up to Alert Loudoun at http://sheriff.loudoun.gov/alertloudoun and select Loudoun Traffic and Road Closures.  Residents seeking information on the 2017 Senior PGA Championship should visit http://SRPGA.com.
