Hogback Mountain Road (Route 651) -- from approximately three-quarters of a mile north of Route 15 to Mount Gilead Road (Route 797) -- will be closed to through traffic Monday, June 5 through Friday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day for pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Residents and businesses within the closure area, emergency vehicles and school buses will have access to the closed portion of Hogback Mountain Road, but will not be able to go beyond the points of pipe replacement in either direction.
Traffic will be detoured via Mount Gilead Road, Harmony Church Road (Route 704) and Route 15 back to Hogback Mountain Road.
All work is weather permitting.
