Driver of Hit and Run of Pedestrian Located

The driver involved in a reported hit and run of a 15-year-old high school student has been identified. The case remains under investigation and will be reviewed with the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney.

The 15-year-old male was struck by a vehicle around 4:15 p.m. on February 15 at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Portsmouth Boulevard. The victim was attempting to cross Claiborne Parkway from the Portsmouth Boulevard side to the Breezyhill Drive side when he was struck by the sedan.

The driver was making a right turn from Portsmouth Boulevard onto Claiborne Parkway and struck the pedestrian within the crosswalk. The sedan stopped a short distance from the scene and the driver remained in the vehicle. The driver reportedly spoke with some bystanders before leaving the scene.

The victim was taken to a local emergency room by a family member where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

  1. Hit a child pedestrian in a crosswalk and left the scene? Whats to investigate? What's the hold up? Is the criminal a deputy or something?
