Breaking News: Metro Takes Control of Silver Line

The Washington Post is reporting that Metro officials took administrative control of the Silver Line today, Tuesday, May 27, virtually guaranteeing that passenger service will begin before the end of August.
 
"Metro officials have set an aggressive schedule for ensuring its personnel and others are familiar with the ins and outs of the $5.6 billion rail line before it begins carrying passengers. Under its agreement with the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority, which oversaw construction of the rail line, Metro has 90 days to complete all its work. But since some testing and training already has occurred, some believe Metro will not need all three months."
