Witnesses Sought to Hit and Run on Belmont Ridge Road

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is seeking witnesses to a hit and run case where two traffic signals at the intersection of Belmont Ridge Road (Route 659) and Portsmouth Boulevard were damaged by an unknown commercial vehicle.
 
The damage occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, when an unknown commercial motor vehicle, possibly a dump truck, struck the overhead signals in the southbound lanes of Belmont Ridge Road. The impact caused $3,000 in damage and all of the signals at the intersection lost power for nearly three hours. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) arrived on the scene and made temporary repairs.
