Possible Traffic Delays During Weekend Events

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is advising residents of weekend events that may cause traffic delays in various areas of the county on Saturday, April 16, and Sunday, April 17. 
     
The events listed below only include activities where traffic control is being conducted by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and where traffic may be impacted.
 
Saturday's Events

• A 5k will be held in the area Route 50 at Tall Cedars Parkway from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. Roads that may be impacted include Tall Cedars Parkway, Eastgate View Drive, Edgewater Street and Pleasant Valley Road.
• A 5k in Brambleton will be held from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Roads that may be impacted include North Star Boulevard, Creighton Road, Olympia Drive and Soave Drive.
• A parade in Sterling will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Roads that may be impacted include Church Road, N. Aspen Avenue, and W. Holly Avenue. The parade route is from Sterling Elementary School to Sterling Middle School.
• A nonprofit bicycle ride will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday morning in Loudoun County. Roads that may be impacted include Sterling Boulevard, Smith Switch Road, Ashburn Road, Belmont Ridge Road and Cochran Mill Road. The ride will travel the Washington and Old Dominion Trail from Herndon to the Douglass Community Center in Leesburg, before traveling back to Herndon.
• A parade in Lovettsville will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday.  Roads that will be impacted include E. Broad Way and S. Loudoun Street. The parade route is from the Lovettsville Community Center to the Lovettsville Elementary School.
• A parade in Ashburn will be held Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Roads that may be impacted include Irongate Way, Windmill Drive and Ashburn Farm Parkway. The parade route is from St. Theresa's Catholic Church to Crittendon Park.

 
Sunday's Events

• An 8k and half-marathon will be held from 6:15-11:15 a.m. on Sunday, April 17 in Ashburn. Roads that may be impacted include Ashburn Road, Ashburn Farm Parkway, Windmill Drive, Claiborne Parkway, Waxpool Road, Smith Switch Road, Gloucester Parkway, Ashburn Village Boulevard, Hemingway Drive and Faulkner Parkway.
• An event will be held at Oatlands on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should expect additional traffic on Route 15 during this time.
