New Date Range for Planned Signal Outage at Route 7 & 659 Interchange

Loudoun County officials announce a delay in the planned signal outage at the intersection of Route 7 (Harry Byrd Highway) and Route 659 (Belmont Ridge Road) associated with the Route 7/659 interchange construction.

Due to delayed delivery of utility service, modifications to the existing traffic signal will be ongoing through June 30. During this period, there will be a planned outage of the traffic signal. Initially, the work was to have concluded June 10.

Construction activity related to the signal work is generally scheduled to occur between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. as conditions permit. At a planned point during the period, the work will require a shutdown of the signal's power and communications.

Electronic message boards will be posted to advise the public one day prior to the traffic signal outage. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will manage traffic control and notifications while the signal is out of service. This will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the scheduled day.

Updates and notices for the Route 7/659 Interchange project construction phase can be found at www.loudoun.gov/route7-659

Questions about the project may be directed to the Loudoun County Department of Transportation & Capital Infrastructure at route7-659@loudoun.gov.
